He retired to the small town of Dierhagen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern upon his release from prison in late 2003.
He said he was able to witness new achievements in China's economic, social and cultural development during each of his visits.
He said he agreed in theory that if there were fast-track of court procedures, it would change the current situation as people, especially the young, would know that there is a price to pay for illegal acts.
