Xi's visit to Monaco will be the first to the country by a Chinese head of state, which "bears historic significance for developing the China-Monaco relationship," Geng said.
Xi said the significance of continued reform and opening-up must be fully understood so that the nation will make united efforts to keep moving forward the reform and opening-up drive. Xi is also head of the Central Committee for Deepening Overall Reform.
Xi made the remarks in a report to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
XIII. Exercising Strict Governance over the Party and Improving the Party's Ability to Govern and Lead
Xi held talks with him on Thursday. The two presidents witnessed the signing of agreements on economic and technological cooperation, human resources development, infrastructural construction and industrial cooperation.
Xi said it is important to adhere to open and innovative cooperation to maintain the vitality of China-Germany relations. This year marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, and German businesses already have a head start in participating in the country’s new round of opening-up.

Xi promoted the expo on several occasions and during his state visits to Spain, Argentina, Panama and Portugal. During his trip to the G20 Summit in Buenos Aires, he again invited foreign companies to participate in the expo, and make better use of it as a platform to expand trade with China.
Xi added that China encouraged domestic companies to take an active part in infrastructure projects in Gabon.
Xi said the PLA has confidence and capability in defeating all invading enemies and protecting China's national sovereignty, security and development interests.
