This is the company's third OLED materials production base globally, and its construction began in December 2018. With a total investment of about 255 million yuan (about .8 million), the base belongs to the company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Idemitsu Electronic Materials (China) Co Ltd which was unveiled Tuesday.

This isn’t the first tie-in between Amazon and Best Buy. This summer, Best Buy began dedicating parts of more than 700 stores to showcase the abilities of smart speakers like the Amazon Echo and Google Home. Best Buy also has a relationship with Google and the Home speaker, with the ability to let users hear sales, learn more about various products, and find their nearby store via the Google Assistant.
This competition has caused some tension among tech giants. Just this week Chromecast and Apple TV devices popped on Amazon, more than two years after the retail giant pulled them from the online store because they weren’t compatible with the Prime Video streaming service. This detente comes after Prime Video finally?debuted on Apple TV earlier this month. Google pulled YouTube from the Fire TV and Echo Show device last month, but it’s possible that Amazon’s decision to sell Chromecasts again could defuse that dispute.

This is far from scientific, but to illustrate the point, here’s a sample of product prices on Amazon Fresh, compared to prices at a nearby Fred Meyer. Whenever possible, the comparison is to the same brand.
This also reflects business realities. The goal for startups these days isn’t necessarily to go public, like it was in the past, but instead to be bought up by a Microsoft or Google or Facebook. And while that’s a perfectly valid business strategy, it does represent a literal focus on “selling out” rather than making it big on your own.
This time the story remains the same, but on a much larger scale. For example, hundreds of designated supply bases in Guangdong province and the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region are running full steam to keep live pigs and other sources of animal protein as well as vegetables in adequate supply for Hong Kong.
This is also an area where Microsoft’s Cortana is far behind Amazon. Microsoft has started to roll out initial smart home partnerships with a variety of device makers, but my efforts to get Cortana to work with two TP-Link smartbulbs — purportedly supported by Microsoft’s voice assistant —?were unsuccessful, despite a couple hours of trying.
