Xi stressed that China does not seek a trade surplus and has a "genuine desire" to increase imports, highlighting the first China International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai this November as evidence.
Xi said China’s reform and opening-up, as well as the practice of “one country, two systems”, has entered a new era. For the two regions, the nation’s reform and opening-up is the largest platform, with the joint building of the Belt and Road and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area representing major new opportunities.
Xi said Party officials should "always be reliable, align themselves to the Party's central leadership in thinking and deeds, follow the Party's instructions and fulfill their responsibilities."
Xi hailed AI as a key driving force for a new round of technological revolution and industrial reform.
Xi extended greetings and good wishes to the country's farmers on behalf of the committee, saying the decision to create the festival further showcases that work concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers is a top priority and holds a fundamental position.

Xi stressed that the two countries should continue to understand and support each other on issues related to the other side's core interests and major concerns.
Wu said that some voices in Hong Kong have questioned the help, saying the city has the ability to handle the pandemic by itself, and they have called for rejecting the mainland's aid.
